We purchased this Cooper bred, straight Line 1 bull at the 2015 National Western Stock Show from B&D Herefords. Out of all the bulls in their carload, they chose 300 to use on their heifers before Denver. In spite of the work and the break from feed, he still stood out among his peers. He has excellent EPDs, which efficiently combine performance and maternal traits. He is a 2.4 BW, in the top 15% of the breed for WW and YW, and in the top 1% for milk and M&G. He is exactly the kind of “curve bender” bull that we have been looking for. The bottom side of his pedigree includes the 475P and 440P cows, both top donor cows at Cooper’s. His sire, 175E, is a popular calving ease and performance bull, a rare combination. 175E is out of 767G and a Pedretti Dam of Distinction, who possessed an ideal udder. In addition to his excellent EPDs and outstanding pedigree, 300 is phenotypically correct with an exceptionally level top and a low flank. He is short marked, with perfect 100% eye pigment. We are proud to share possession of this bull with Troy and Gimmie Jo Jansonius of Prairie View, Kansas.
